Lapin LP05
The thickness of composite materials has been increased as their applications have expanded into large structures, such as the shells of the ships and the blades of wind turbine. Lapin is ideal for evaluating integrity of and identifying interply debond in such monolithic structures made from carbon graphite and other composite laminates. By connecting Lapin to PC, PDA, degree of debond/delamination can be shown in a display in a shape of echo (corrugate), and the quantitative result can be recorded for further analysis. The device is compact, battery operated and suitable for hand carry.
Features
- Compact and lightweight
- Easy to operate
- Debond is displayed by LED in comparison with the pre-set standard value
- Measured echo in corrugate shape is transferred to external equipment (PC, PDA) via USB
- Scanning/examination is possible even under noisy environment
Applications
- Detection of debond/delamination of thick composite material
- Detection of inner cavity within various materials, such as ceramic, tiles, etc.

Offline Mode
Debonds are found by comparing the measured sound data with preset standards in the CPU. There is a LED screen on the control box, which makes abnormalities easy to detect by comparing the slopes of the actual and standard data graphs.
Online Mode
LAPIN can also be connected to a PC with a standard USB port. The LAPIN software provides real time display of the sound data in both an oscilloscopic wavy form and in absolute figures. Data can be stored in the PC.
